Landscape Designer IV

Position Description

As a Landscape Designer IV, you will work directly with senior team members to progress your knowledge of the land development process, coordinate to develop design solutions, develop an understanding of why things are done, and assist in the production of a variety of project types including commercial, multifamily, industrial, mixed-use, streetscape, and amenity design within a team of landscape and civil designers, landscape architects and civil engineers.

As our firm continues to grow, we are searching for a landscape designer to join our Charlotte office.

Duties

  • Collaborate with Senior Staff on design direction of project
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members on project tasks and deadlines
  • Manage assigned tasks & workload on multiple projects
  • Critically think through design problems
  • Conduct due diligence and prepare inventory and analysis for project sites
  • Collaborate with civil engineers and planners
  • Understand AutoCAD standards and project standards
  • Full design and production of landscape and amenity plans
  • Maintain working knowledge of appropriate construction, finishing, and planting materials
  • Perform construction administration related duties such as site visits, field reports, shop drawing review, and respond to contractor RFI’s

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture or a related field of study
  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) Licensure

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LandFX, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, & Illustrator), Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • A team player that is committed to a collaborative design process and the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and graphic skills
  • Advanced knowledge of design principles and methods
  • Knowledge and experience with applicable state and local codes and jurisdictional permitting requirements
  • Knowledge and experience assisting with assembling permitting and construction documents
  • Knowledge of plant materials commonly used in the region
